Umar bin al-Khattaab (radiallaahu anhu) said:

If a camel died, wretched, on the bank of the (river) Nile, I would fear that Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, will ask me about it.

In al-Muntadham of Ibn al-Jawzee (4/141) through Hayaat al-Salaf of Ahmad al-Tayyaar.
